In my role within the core sales and marketing team, I focused on enhancing digital financial literacy, empowering individuals to take charge of their financial futures. This achievement not only demonstrated the power of collaboration and innovation but also deepened my passion for driving impactful change in the media landscape.
Working at ITV taught me the importance of storytelling and the vital role media plays in shaping public perception. I began my journey at Warid in service marketing and quickly advanced to become the head of marketing operations. This role encompassed a wide array of responsibilities, including external and internal communication, media planning and buying, and agency management. It was a dynamic environment that challenged me to think creatively and strategically as we established Warid’s presence in Bangladesh.
Following this exciting venture, I continued my journey as the head of marketing for Airtel Bangladesh after the acquisition of Warid’s operations. This transition allowed me to apply my insights and experiences in a larger context, helping to shape the future of telecommunications in the region. My time with Warid and Airtel was not just about building a brand; it was about redefining connectivity for millions of people in Bangladesh. My career journey began with Citycell, the first mobile telecom operator in South Asia, which originally launched under Hutchison Bangladesh before being acquired by Singapore Telecom (Singtel). This experience was foundational, allowing me to be part of a ground breaking organization that paved the way for mobile communication in the region.
At Citycell, I was involved in marketing both TDMA and CDMA wireless technologies, helping to introduce and expand mobile services across Bangladesh. It was an exciting time filled with challenges and opportunities, as we worked to connect people in a rapidly evolving telecommunications landscape.
